COVID-19: FG asks civil servants to resume with proof of vaccination

Posted by on November 28, 2021 0

The Federal Government has ordered all civil servants to resume work on December 1, 2021, a year after it asked them to work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government had in December 2020 directed civil servants on Grade Level 12 and below to work from home, following a spike in the spread of the coronavirus across the country.

Sunday PUNCH learnt that even after the rate of infection dropped, many of the civil servants continued to work from home.

But the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, has now instructed all civil servants from Grade Level 12 and below who have been working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic to resume by December 1. The circular tagged “HCSF/3065/VOL.1/107” partly reads, “It will be recalled that as part of the measures to curtail the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, officers from Grade Level 12 and below were directed to work from home.

“Following the advice of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, this category of workers is expected to resume duties by Wednesday, December 1.

“All Federal Government employees would therefore be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result done within 72 hours.”
